  • The majority of children who suffer from heart disease have a congenital heart defect. These are structural heart defects with a born child.
  • Over 2,00,000 children are estimated to be born with congenital heart disease in India every year.
  • About 1/5th of these suffer from critical heart disease requiring early intervention.
  • Approximately 78,000 babies die every year due to congenital heart defect.
