The urology department is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care, round the clock both medical and surgical care in all aspects of adult urology. We provide a patient-oriented, multidisciplinary approach in the diagnosis of all urological diseases and accordingly the surgical services for the problems related to all genitourinary disorders.

KG Hospital is the first hospital in Tamil Nadu to perform cadaver transplants and multi-organ transplants outside Chennai.

KG Hospital has performed the World's first ABO Mismatch Transplant from Hepatitis B Virus Positive Donor to a recipient in the setting of an ABO-incompatible kidney transplant.

KG Hospital is empanelled under the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme for performing transplantations.

I. Diagnostic Procedures:-

• TRUS Biopsy of Prostate, Uroflowmetry, Urodynamic, Penile Doppler Ultrasound

II. Comprehensive Care For The Urinary Calculus Diseases:-

• By Endo-urological procedures like

1) PCNL:- For stag horn and large kidney calculus. There is minimal pain and discomfort.

2) Endourology:- Surgery done through an Endoscope, by avoiding open procedures. Ureteric, vesicle, urethral calculus ( URS & Cystolitholapaxy), Treatment of prostate enlargement (TURP), bladder biopsy, bladder cancer (TURBT), urethral strictures (DVIU).

III. Urological Cancers:- With a backup of all investigation tools including MRI & CT scans and ultrasound including TRUS and Oncologists. We offer a comprehensive Uro-Oncology service(Radical Nephrectomy, NephroUreterectomy,...........).

IV. Reconstructive Urology:- Many reconstructive Urological surgeries are routinely done. (pyeloplasty, Urethroplasty.).

V. Infertility:- Facilities for investigation of male infertility. Female infertility investigated by gynaecologist.

VI. Male Sexual Dysfunction:- Erectile dysfunction, Premature ejaculation, Penile Curvature and Priapism.

VII. Female Urology:- Problems like OAB (going to the toilet frequently & urinary leak) and Stress incontinence (leaking of urine with cough and laughing or straining) are investigated and treated.

VIII. Minimally Invasive Surgery (KEYHOLE OR Laparoscopic Surgery):- For all Benign and Malignant genitourinary disease. Major advantage is less pain, small or no scar, early discharge and early return to work.

IX. Renal Transplantation:- Adult and paediatric, ABO-incompatible (between mismatched blood group pairs), combined liver-kidney transplantation.
